Please go to XTREMEY and vote for THUNDERSTRUCK II for best snowmobile film!
Team Thunderstruck spent an amazing weekend in the mountains of Idaho this weekend with David and Richard from National Goegraphic Television. They had contacted us several months ago after seeing our footage on our website about doing an “Ultimate Explorer” episode about extreme sports. After talking to many people out west about winter sports, the program shifted toward avalanche stories, rescues, and why people want to get back into the backcountry after a terrifying event or even after a tragic event like an avalanche. We filmed with them, interviewed with them, and even did a few stunts with them! Mark Mesenbrink even jumped a cement truck for them! What a ball it was. The final program will be airing on National Geographic TV on April 18th and on MSNBC soon thereafter. Watch for it!
The snow in Island Park is better than I have seen it in years. All weekend long our sleds worked like crazy to get where we normally rocket at 50 mph! Doug Anderson got REALLY crazy and Don Lentz pulled one of the sickest lines ever filmed. . . Every person on the mountain that day was in awe! Watch for it in TSIII! Also, the Cutler 1150s and Gerald’s 1200 PSI all ran very well. Don was running his TWIN TURBO D&D 1010 and Doug, Wes, and Travis had their turbos. Dan Bush’s 1150 Union Bay went belly up on it’s second day so he even got his turbo out for Monday’s ride. Anyway, it was awesome snow and sunshine and those 2 things mixed make up for great footage! Thanks to the Utah and Washington Teams for coming up and for Gerald and Shelly and of course Team Physician Doc Nesbo and Avy expert Tony for soming in the weekend. And again, special thanks to National Geographic TV.
