Happy Halloween! Thought I’d share a few more e-mails I’ve received this month!
Hi Jim,
My boy and I stopped by your booth at Puyallup and bought several shirts, and talked with you guys for awhile. If you remember, I was the guy who asked to have Julie sign a sweatshirt for my 14 year old daughter Robyn, who thinks that Julie is just awesome. Me and Jr. finally got home today, and as I was passing out “treasures” from my trip to Seattle to my family members, I asked Robyn if she remembered who Julie Marquart (sp?) was. Without skipping a beat, she said “that awesome girl from the sled videos….” That is when I handed Robyn the sweatshirt, showing what Julie had written on it, and Robyn just started bawliing. I was awestruck! Here my daughter was absolutely sobbing with joy! Unreal. She was laughing and crying and sobbing all at the same time, telling me over and over – “this is the BEST thing EVER!!” . If I thought that if all a teenage girl needed for happiness was a signed sweatshirt, I would have gotten her one years ago! Anyway, please tell Julie thank you, very, very much, and let her know how much it meant to Robyn to get that. It really meant alot to me. I am pretty certain that Robyn is going to sleep in it tonight, and probably will not take it off for at least a week. My only problem now is, Robyn wishes I had taken her down to Puyallup rather than her brother. Maybe next year…. 🙂
As for me… I will admit I was a little awestruck. I was not expecting to see you guys there at the show, and it really made my trip worth it. I have been watching your videos for the past few years, and after awhile, you wonder if the people portrayed in the videos are really as down to earth as you imagine. You guys were. I really enjoyed talking with you, Lyle, Dan, Julie, and Mark, but was disappointed that I did not get to meet Randy or Brad. It would have been neat to have met Davidoff (whom I’ve talked to online) and Cam.
I know that shows like that are probably pretty crazy, but I also want to thank you for taking time out of your busy day to talk to me (we talked about Cam’s XP blowing up and getting lifted out among other things, if you remember), when I am sure there were tons of other people wanting a piece of your time as well. Meeting you guys is going to make watching your DVD’s over and over again just that much more enjoyable.
Oh yeah… Somehow you escaped from signing my poster! The poster will get a permanant home on the wall of my shop, with the signatures of the other guys who were there. It will make me cool with my friends for at least a week or so…
Thanks again for an enjoyable weekend!
-Mike
Thank you for all the time you spent with us this weekend, everyone from me, my friends, and my girls thought you guys were great. Please send Ange a special thank you for the extra time she spent talking with the my girls and taking the pictures.
I was able to sit down and watch TS7 from start to finish yesterday and all I can say is WOW. You and your crew have been raising the bar with sled video’s for years, and we ( the snowmobiling community ) have come to expect that from you. This time though, you didn’t raise the bar, you obliterated it!!! I never imagined such HIGH QUALITY from the film itself…. and I’m not talking about the riders and the scenery, I’m talking about the video. You must have increased your time and equipment investment exponentially – and it shows. Absolutely the best quality filming, producing, and mixing ever seen in a sled film. The clearity of every shot, the combination of natural sled sounds, music sound track and commentary were top notch professional. TS7 is miles above everything else out there including your own previous works. You know how “type A” and detail orientated most of us doctors are, and I just couldn’t find the slightest imperfection in the “product” TS7. Congratulations!
On a personal note I really appreciate the increase in backcountry and powder riding included with you and your crews INSANE chute climbs. The mix of material was again the best I’ve seen to date. I’m also a fan of how you increased the length of each “shot” instead of continually switching camera angles.
Thanks again,
Mark
That’s why we do it, folks, right there. Thanks for all the e-mails, keep ’em coming!!! Thunderstruck fans ROCK!!!!!
