On March 14, 2016, the snowmobiling world lost a tremendous soul. An amazing athlete that transcended boundaries between extreme sports and truly made snowmobiling a happier place. He touched people worldwide with his amazing riding and krazy antics both on and off the hill. On March 14, Dan Davidoff, the Krazy Canadian, passed away in an avalanche near his family cabin outside of Castlegar, BC, Canada. Dan’s sister Kelly Davidoff and I, Jim Phelan, with blessings from Dan’s family, have started a pathway to set up The Dan Davidoff Foundation in loving memory of Dan. This Foundation is founded on love of life, which truly was Dan’s main credo every day. While we are still working on setting up the Foundation, one of its core tenets is avalanche education and safety, so we will strive to raise money to provide avalanche education and safety equipment to those in need and to those who might want to advance their knowledge in the avalanche world. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor! If we save one life, if we save 100 lives… Life saving is our goal…
Here is the information from a recent Thunderstruck Facebook post:
